Hello
I'm Jazmin. Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself and tell you a little about me. I worked in the special education field for fifteen years. I've experience working with students from two to twenty-two years of age and even older, with various ability levels and disabilities, such as autism, emotional behavior disorders, downs syndrome, physical impairments, medical fragility, and hearing and visual impairments. In 2020, I was honored with a Teacher of the Year Award from my school district. It was a humbling honor.
My Story
I grew up in the concrete jungle of New York City always daydreaming of a day where I was surrounded by luscious green hills and sweet farm animals. As an adult, I now have five spoiled dogs, a flock of chickens, a rooster, and two free-range rabbits on our little homestead.
My biggest passion in life is learning. My favorite movie scene is when Belle from Beauty and the Beast sees the library. I always attuned to her passion for reading and learning. To this day, my safe place is the local library. On a hard day, you can find me deeply breathing in the scent of books and knowledge. My love of learning has led me down many paths of passion, which include sewing, cooking, cosplay, foraging, gardening, magic, and teaching.
My purpose on Earth is to love. As corny as it might sound, I love to care for others and to make it known that they are loved. I love working with children, especially those with special needs. They have the biggest hearts in the world and see reality so uniquely; it’s awe-inspiring.
